Indicates the three railway lines that were in use in order to serve the industry.

The links on the above photograph will help you to locate the areas of the industry that once worked along the north face of the Mynydd Maen mountain, starting from the upper race  (top left of the map) to Hafodyrynys  (far right).

There were three railway lines, with the top line serving the industries of Blaendare, The Balance Pit, Glyn Pits, Quarry Level, GlynTillery, and Hafodyrynys. On the lower levels of the railway lines were the Mynydd Maen and Albion Collieries along with the loco shed and some of the steam engines that worked these lines.
